Safety Tips

It's important to remember... no matter what time of the year it
is... ride safe!
There is a lot more to riding safely than you might think. Even riders who have
logged thousands of miles on the road can benefit by brushing up on their safety
skills. The conscientious rider will have visibility, positioning, and S.E.E.
strategies so ingrained in his or her mind that they become second nature.
That's when the riding really gets good.

Experienced Rider Course
By Todd Abernathy and Mike Polei
On July 22nd H.O.G. members Todd McKnight, Jeff Uhrick, Monty Blackburn, Mike
Polei, Bill Robbins,
Bill Jefferson, Diane Spillers, Pete Bell, Lori Jordan, Greg Austin and Todd
Abernathy participated in a
ABATE Experienced Riding Course Class, located in Muncie, IN. It was a four hour
on the bike class that
was enjoyed by all in attendance. Our skills were tested and improved upon
especially late in the day as
the newly coated and striped parking lot found a few of us trying to catch our
front tires in some situations.
Everyone encouraged and supported each other as we tested and improved our
riding skills. If possible I
think everyone should either take the Basic or the E.R.C. classes as we can all
learn something and also,
most insurance companies offer discounts upon completion of the course.
